The new N21 line of the NitBus is now operational in Sant Climent de Llobregat, also serving Gavà Mar and linking in Viladecans with other metropolitan routes.
The night bus has finally arrived in Sant Climent de Llobregat. On the night of Friday, July 17, the N21 line of the NitBus began service, a long-standing demand of the municipality that now connects with Gavà Mar and allows transfers in Viladecans to the rest of the metropolitan network. The service covers two areas that previously lacked night public transport: Gavà Mar and Sant Climent itself.
N21 Timetables and Frequencies
The N21 operates on the nights of Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and the eve of holidays throughout the year, with a frequency of 90 minutes. The line's starting point is located at the plaça de la Vila in Sant Climent. From Viladecans, users can transfer to lines N14, N16, and N19 to continue to Barcelona, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Castelldefels, El Prat de Llobregat, and the airport.
The route from plaça Europa in Viladecans is virtually identical to that of the daytime line L88. The new connection also facilitates links with Gavà, where users can access other metropolitan destinations. For the residents of Sant Climent, the wait is over: they can now move around at night without relying on a car.
Service Presentation
The presentation event took place on Friday, July 17, in Sant Climent de Llobregat, attended by the director of Mobility, Transport and Sustainability of the AMB, Joan Maria Bigas, and the mayors of Sant Climent and Gavà, Jordi Pérez Condeminas, along with other institutional representatives. Pérez Condeminas highlighted that this is very welcome news that responds to a historical demand of the municipality and represents a new step towards ensuring mobility adapted to the needs of the citizens.
“It is a great satisfaction to announce that Sant Climent de Llobregat will finally have a night bus service, the NitBus. Joan Maria Bigas noted that they celebrate that, for the first time, the NitBus reaches Sant Climent and Gavà Mar, connecting these areas with the urban centre of Gavà and Viladecans. Furthermore, this new N21 line facilitates connections with the rest of the night network of Bus Metropolità. For the residents of Sant Climent, the arrival of the NitBus represents a significant change in their night mobility, especially for young people and workers who need to travel during the early hours.
The Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) reminds that the N21 is another line in the NitBus network, which already has 19 lines covering the entire metropolitan area. With this addition, night connectivity in Baix Llobregat is improved, a long-standing demand from smaller municipalities. For the residents of Gavà Mar, this is also a novelty, as they previously did not have direct night public transport.
The service is provided with adapted buses and marked stops. Users can check the schedules on the AMB website or mobility apps. The fare is the same as for the other NitBus lines: 2.40 euros per trip, with discounts for integrated transport tickets such as the T-Usual or T-Casual.
For those living in Sant Climent and working in Barcelona or other municipalities in the metropolitan area, the N21 is a real option to avoid using a car and reduce fuel consumption. Additionally, it contributes to sustainability and emission reduction, a priority objective of the AMB.
