The Denomination of Origin Terra Alta has conducted over 200 wine tastings in specialised shops in the Barcelona area. The campaign took place between May and July, with tastings on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Denomination of Origin Terra Alta has concluded the first edition of its promotional campaign in specialised shops in the province of Barcelona, with a total of over 200 tastings conducted. The initiative aimed to bring the wines of this denomination closer to consumers through direct and personalised tastings at selected points of sale.

The campaign ran from May 29 to July 18, with scheduled sessions on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. During this period, tastings of various wines protected by the DO Terra Alta were offered, many of which had been recognised in the latest edition of the DO Terra Alta Wine Competition 2026.

The participating establishments were spread across several municipalities in the Barcelona area. In Barcelona city, Viconvino, Taps Sagrada Familia, Wine Palace in Sarrià, Vinoto Bodega, Álava de la Cruz, and Idyllica (with locations on Bruc Street and Rambla del Prat) participated. In Terrassa, Tecavins joined; in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Wine Palace; in Vic and Olot, Divinus; and in Vilanova i la Geltrú, La Branca. There was also participation in Salou-Vila Seca, although this locality is outside the province of Barcelona.

The tastings were not limited to the wines presented in the campaign but were complemented by other references from the DO Terra Alta that were already part of each shop's regular offering. This way, consumers could discover a broader selection of wines from the denomination in their shopping environment.

The DO Terra Alta highlights that the response has been very positive. According to the denomination, the interest generated has translated not only into increased sales but also into greater recommendations from the establishments and a satisfactory experience for both the shops and the end consumers.

The action was carried out in collaboration with an association of shops in Catalonia focused on selling quality and local products. The DO Terra Alta frames this collaboration within its strategy to engage with consumers through the specialised channel.

Although the main campaign has concluded, the DO Terra Alta maintains one last event linked to this initiative. It will take place on September 10 at 19:00 at Vinalium in Cornellà de Llobregat. This event will allow attendees to discover more wines from the denomination in a format similar to the tastings conducted.

With this first edition, the DO Terra Alta strengthens its presence in the specialised channel of the province of Barcelona and focuses on direct contact with consumers in-store, a format that the denomination considers useful for showcasing the uniqueness of its wines. The initiative has allowed wine enthusiasts in the area to discover products from a denomination that, although not from the province, seeks to establish itself in the Barcelona market.
