The Sports Night in Manresa reaches its 55th edition with a gala that will take place on Tuesday, September 8 at 7 PM at the Conservatory Theatre. The jury has already made the nominations public in all categories.
The Sports Night in Manresa will celebrate its 55th edition on Tuesday, September 8, at 7 PM at the Conservatory Theatre. This annual event, which has become an unmissable date in the local sports calendar, pays tribute to the effort, dedication, and merits of the city's athletes and entities during the 2025-2026 season.
The jury, composed of representatives from local media (Grup Taelus, NacióDigital Manresa, and Regió7), has reviewed all the submitted nominations and announced the list of nominees for each of the planned awards. The awards cover everything from clubs and coaches to sponsors and grassroots and veteran athletes.
The La Salle Manresa Sports Association Award, which recognises the club, entity, or organisation with the most outstanding work of the season, has seven candidates: Bàsquet Manresa, Centre d'Esports Manresa, Club Atlètic Manresa, Club Egiba, Club Esport 7 Judo, Club Natació Manresa, and Manresa Club Bàsquet Femení.
In the Josep M. Montfort Award, aimed at the most dedicated coach or trainer of the last two seasons, there are twelve nominees. Notable names include David Torilo Romero (water polo, Club Natació Manresa), Gerard Pusó Badia (futsal, Servigroup Peñíscola FS), Jairo Molero Sánchez (futsal, Club Manresa Futbol Sala), Josep Esquius (basketball, Manresa Club Bàsquet Femení), Lluís Márquez Gonzalez (gymnastics, Egiba), Maurici Casasayas Soler (judo, Club Esport7 Judo), Miki Castillo Garrido (basketball, Manresa Club Bàsquet Femení), Míriam Font Carrera (gymnastics, Egiba), Mònica Palà Giralt (artistic swimming, Club Natació Manresa), Sergi Trullàs Rosa (football, CE Manresa), Vicenç Llobet Manubens (basketball, Club Bàsquet Manresa 2015), and Xavier Casimiro Ros (gymnastics, Egiba).
The Ton Perarnau Award for the best executive has four candidates: Alexandre Cazorla Lavado (Royal Dance), Chema Pulido Aguilera (CE Manresa), Jaume Torreguitart (AE La Salle), and Toni Rey Olivera (Club Natació Manresa). For the award for the best sponsor of a local sports entity, the nominated companies are Adbisio, Avinent Group, Baxi, Covisa, Efienergia, and Occident.
The Vicenç Comas Award for the best team in the absolute category includes eleven nominations: Avinent Manresa Women's and Men's Absolute (Club Atlètic Manresa), Baxi Manresa (Club Bàsquet Manresa), Egiba Team women's and men's artistic gymnastics, the men's absolute team of CE Manresa, Futbol Club Pirinaica, and Gimnàstic de Manresa, the men's absolute water polo team of Club Natació Manresa, and the Senior B and Senior A teams of Manresa Club Bàsquet Femení.
In the grassroots category, the Champions Award recognises teams that have achieved results at the national and state level. Among the nominees are teams from artistic swimming, water polo, football, basketball, and volleyball from various clubs in Manresa. Notable mentions include the Alevín Team of Artistic Swimming from Club Natació Manresa, the Benjamí A and B water polo teams from the same club, and various football categories from Club Gimnàstic Manresa, as well as the U15 basketball team from Manresa Club Bàsquet Femení and the Infantil A from Club Bàsquet Manresa 2015.
For the veteran category, eight athletes are nominated for the award: Alícia Hernández Martínez, Montserrat Prat Grau, and Sancho Ayala Abad (athletics, Club Atlètic Manresa); Jordi Ballús Roca (water skiing, Club Esportiu la Baells); Manel Ramírez Reina (hapkido, Arts Marcials Viturtia); Mariano Méndez Cabras (triathlon, Club Natació Manresa); Montserrat Gomáriz González (swimming, Club Natació Manresa); and Sebastià Catllà Fernández (triathlon, Penya Ciclista Bonavista).
In the training category (up to cadet or U16), there are 13 young athletes nominated, including Abril Fernández López (gymnastics, Egiba), Adrià Lou Manyosa (futsal, Club Manresa Futbol Sala), Aina Morral Rubio (artistic swimming, Club Natació Sabadell), Alan Navarro Garcia and Aleix Álvarez Olivares (gymnastics, Egiba), Alícia Puigdellívol Martínez (water polo, Club Natació Manresa and Club Natació Sabadell), Aneu Isern Fontanet (futsal, Club Manresa Futbol Sala), and Anna Recuenco Boix (athletics, Club Atlètic Manresa), among others.
Attendees at the gala will be able to learn the winners of each category live from the Conservatory Theatre. The event, open to the public, is an opportunity to highlight the sports fabric of Manresa and recognise the work of hundreds of people who make sports activities possible in the city.
