The Canary singer-songwriter reviewed three decades of her career at the Terramar Gardens, with the greatest hits from her 1996 album as the main focus.
On Saturday night at the Terramar Gardens in Sitges, it was a journey through three decades of music. Rosana, the Canary singer-songwriter, celebrated the 30th anniversary of Lunas Rotas, the album that launched her to stardom in 1996, in a concert that was much more than just a nostalgic exercise.
The Vamos a Star tour, which arises precisely from this anniversary, offers a broad look at her entire career. In Sitges, the artist revisited her early compositions from the maturity of a consolidated trajectory, combining them with songs from different stages of her discography.
Sin miedo opened the night as a declaration of intent, summarising the vitalistic universe that has defined her work. From there, the repertoire progressed with tracks like Bebes de mí, La vida es bonita, Puede ser, No olvidarme de olvidar or Soñar es de valientes, alternating emotional intensity and bright rhythms.
The tour is not limited to reproducing Lunas Rotas; it uses it as a starting point to tell an artistic story spanning thirty years. This was demonstrated by songs like Llegaremos a tiempo, El cielo que me das or En la memoria de la piel.
The most celebrated moments came with the greatest hits: Si tú no estás aquí, El talismán and A fuego lento were sung along by an audience that knew every lyric. The band accompanying Rosana consisted of Rubén Sierra on guitars, Bruno Suppo on bass, Joaquín Migallón on drums, and Gabriel Peso on keyboards.
One of the most special moments occurred during the first encore when Rosana went down to the audience to perform Si tú no estás from the centre of the crowd, linking into a medley that included Contigo, El talismán and A fuego lento. The final segment included Pa'ti no estoy, Con viento a favor and Mañana.
Before Rosana, the Imprescindibles cycle, promoted by the Culture Department of the Sitges Town Hall, presented the singer-songwriter Miriam Monago, who premiered her new project Niña de ojos tristes, an evolution towards a more mature sound. Monago debuted in 2023 with A todos aquellos que and has released tracks like Rua Summer Carnaval and A rotos.
The festival continues this Saturday with Els Amics de les Arts and Ginestà, in one of the big nights dedicated to Catalan music. The former celebrates their 20th anniversary with a tour across the country, while Ginestà, the project of brothers Júlia and Pau Serrasolsas, presents Gira tot igual, però diferent. The Imprescindibles cycle will feature a concert by Samire Duo, a Catalan alternative pop/rock group.
