The Health Department has granted €246,323 to 21 primary care projects in Catalonia, of which two are being developed in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, with €12,500 each.
The primary care in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat will receive €25,000 to promote two community health initiatives. These are the projects 'Enjoy and Gain Health in Community' and 'An Emotional Wellbeing Chatbot', selected under the Economic Reinforcement Program for Community Health Projects launched by the Health Department of the Generalitat.
In total, the call has allocated €246,323 to 21 projects across Catalonia. Of these, 14 correspond to established initiatives and 7 to new proposals. Each receives a maximum grant of €12,500. The Strategic Directorate of Primary and Community Care (DEAPiC) and the Public Health Secretariat are responsible for the program.
The objective, according to sources from the Department, is to promote projects that improve the health of the population from a comprehensive perspective, incorporating criteria of equity, gender, intersectionality, and cultural diversity. Participatory initiatives based on scientific evidence that work to reduce inequalities are prioritized.
The project 'Enjoy and Gain Health in Community', driven by the EAP Hospitalet de Llobregat 4 – Torrassa, targets adult women in the area. Physical activity is the central focus to reflect on emotional wellbeing, promote healthy habits, and raise awareness of the available local resources.
On the other hand, 'An Emotional Wellbeing Chatbot', from the EAP Hospitalet de Llobregat 3 - Collblanc, proposes a digital tool to offer emotional support to citizens. Both initiatives join the network of projects addressing issues such as unwanted loneliness, racism, or gender-based violence.
The program also includes projects from other Catalan localities. For example, 'Entaulades, more than a meal', in La Pobla de Segur (Lleida), organizes weekly meals to create social networks, or 'Enjoy and Gain Health in Community', which shares its name with the one in L'Hospitalet but takes place in another municipality.
The DEAPiC has highlighted the importance of community action as a key tool to advance towards a more preventive primary care model that is closer to people. The call seeks to support both established projects and new proposals that generate a positive impact on health through collaboration between professionals, institutions, and the community.
For the residents of L'Hospitalet, this funding represents a reinforcement in primary care beyond traditional medical consultations. The projects will be launched in the coming months, and it is expected that they will contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of the local population.
