The Barberà del Vallès City Council has approved a package of aid amounting to 19,000 euros for humanitarian crises, with special attention to the earthquake in Venezuela.
The Barberà del Vallès City Council, through the Department of Cooperation and Solidarity, has approved a set of financial contributions to address various humanitarian crises. The files, ratified in July, total 19,000 euros and will be channelled through the Catalan Fund for Development Cooperation.
The largest allocation, of 10,000 euros, will be dedicated to the emergency campaign for the population affected by the earthquake in Venezuela. With this aid, the municipality aims to help mitigate the effects of the earthquake and cover the basic needs of those affected.
Additionally, two contributions of 3,000 euros each have been approved for Palestine and Lebanon, due to the escalation of violence in the region, and for Cuba, due to the energy crisis the country is experiencing.
The package also includes 3,000 euros for the campaign 'Món Local Refugi: Actua contra les fronteres hostils', which defends the rights of refugees and promotes dignified reception in migration processes.
With this aid, Barberà del Vallès reaffirms its commitment to international cooperation and solidarity with the most vulnerable groups. The contributions add to other municipal initiatives supporting emergencies and development.
