The first activity will be the screening of 'Lorca en La Habana' on September 18 at the Maria Feliu Municipal Auditorium, followed by a discussion.

Barberà del Vallès will resume the programming of the Lorca Year in September, a municipal initiative commemorating the 90th anniversary of the assassination of Federico García Lorca. The new cycle of activities will extend until December and aims to continue bringing the figure and legacy of the poet closer to all citizens.

The first proposal of this new phase will be the screening of the documentary Lorca en La Habana, which will take place on September 18 at the Maria Feliu Municipal Auditorium. The production recalls the poet's stay in the Cuban capital in 1930, a period that Lorca himself described as one of the happiest of his life and which profoundly influenced his personal and literary trajectory. The event will be complemented by a subsequent discussion to share a collective reflection on the relevance of his thought.

This resumption comes after an initial phase marked by wide citizen participation and a very positive reception. During the first months of the year, the commemoration has included theatrical performances, participatory actions, literary proposals, and educational activities, with a very positive assessment from both the public and the participating entities.

The autumn programming will continue this journey with new proposals that will delve into the life and work of the author from diverse perspectives, maintaining the objective of promoting democratic memory and the values of freedom. The City Council of Barberà del Vallès is already preparing a closing event scheduled for December.

Residents interested in attending the screening should stay tuned for information about the schedule, which will be communicated soon. The activity is free to access and is part of the municipality's commitment to culture and historical memory.
