The Barberà del Vallès City Council launches a new edition of the Activa't +60 programme, with activities for seniors from October 2026 to May 2027. Registrations open in September.

The Barberà del Vallès City Council, through the Municipal Programme for the Elderly, has presented the new programming of the Activa't +60 project for the 2026-2027 course. The initiative, which will take place from October 2026 to May 2027, aims to promote active, autonomous, and participatory ageing among the elderly in the municipality.

The new activity brochure, available in both paper and online formats, includes a wide range of proposals for learning, moving, and sharing experiences. The programme includes annual courses in physical activities such as gymnastics, yoga, gentle zumba, and walking, as well as cognitive well-being workshops to exercise the mind and artistic activities like painting, musical theatre, choral singing, and radio.

Additionally, quarterly workshops have been scheduled covering disciplines such as cooking, photography, emotional well-being, and knowledge of technological tools. In the realm of Digital Culture, training is offered on artificial intelligence, the use of social networks like WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok, and design with Canva.

The programme also includes seven cultural visits to places of interest such as the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, Gaudí's Casa Vicens, the Parliament of Catalonia, or the Garraf Buddhist Monastery. These outings aim to bring heritage and culture closer to the participants.

The project continues its commitment to intergenerational projects, such as the solidarity workshop for making toys from t-shirt yarn for the nurseries in Barberà, and the programme “Compartim el nostre saber,” where the elderly experts themselves lead workshops to share their knowledge.

Each month, specific dynamisation activities will be held, such as conversation groups, memory games, and the traditional Sunday dances at the Torre d'en Gorgs or at the Ca n'Amiguet Civic Centre. These proposals aim to create community and provide meeting spaces.

To inform everyone about the details, a public presentation of the programme will be held on September 7 at 11:00 am at the Municipal Theatre Cooperative (TMC). Interested parties can attend to resolve doubts and learn about the complete offer.

The registration process follows a set calendar. From September 8 to 10, appointments can be made for in-person registrations at the Ca n'Amiguet Civic Centre. The application for activities will take place from September 14 to 24, both online through the municipal website and in person.

The lists of admitted persons will be communicated on September 29. For any questions or advice, citizens can contact the +60 Information Point by calling 696 403 764 or sending an email to activat@bdv.cat.

This new edition consolidates an offer that is already a reference in the region, with a clear focus on the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of the elderly. The variety of activities allows each person to find a proposal tailored to their interests and needs.

Those interested can consult the complete brochure and the registration procedure on the municipal website or in the document attached to the news. Participation is open to all residents over 60 years old registered in Barberà del Vallès.
