The Montcada i Reixac Town Hall has opened the call for grants for families hosting Sahrawi children this summer under the Vacances en Pau 2026 programme. The deadline for submitting documentation is August 31.
The Montcada i Reixac Town Hall has launched a new call for financial aid aimed at families in the municipality participating this summer in the Vacances en Pau 2026 programme, which hosts Sahrawi minors during the summer months. Applications can be submitted until the upcoming 31st of August.
According to the local council, the grants cover a wide range of expenses related to the child's stay: summer camp fees, medical and dental visits, medications and treatments, as well as other services linked to the child's physical well-being. The municipal swimming pool fee is also subsidised, provided it is related to the child's stay, along with expenses for clothing, footwear and other duly justified items.
The processing of applications should preferably be done online, although there is also the option to do it in person at the Citizen Attention Office, located at Avenida Unitat, 6. On the municipal website www.montcada.cat, all forms and necessary documentation to apply for this aid can be consulted.
This initiative is part of the Vacances en Pau programme, which allows Sahrawi minors to spend a season with host families in different parts of Spain every summer, away from the harsh conditions of the Tinduf refugee camp. With these grants, the Montcada i Reixac Town Hall aims to alleviate the financial burden of hosting and encourage more families to join future editions.
Interested families who are already hosting a minor or plan to do so must submit their documentation before the end of August. The council recommends starting the process as soon as possible to avoid last-minute setbacks.
