The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a new incident involving a firearm in Terrassa. A man shot a neighbour in his home on Sant Damià street on Sunday night and fled. The victim is hospitalised but out of danger.

A new incident involving firearms has shaken Terrassa. On Sunday night, a man shot at a neighbour inside his home on Sant Damià street and managed to escape. The Mossos d'Esquadra have launched a search operation to locate the assailant, while the victim is recovering in hospital.

The incident occurred around eleven o'clock at night when the emergency phone line 112 received a report of gunshots heard in a residence in the Ca n'Anglada neighbourhood. Several patrols from the Unitat de Seguretat Ciutadana (USC) of the Mossos, along with ambulances from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM), were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the officers only found the victim, a man who had sustained a single gunshot wound. SEM paramedics stabilised him and transported him to the hospital, where he was admitted with a bullet wound. According to police sources, the injury is serious but his life is not in danger and he is recovering favourably.

The assailant, for his part, managed to flee before the patrols arrived. The Mossos activated a search operation in the Ca n'Anglada neighbourhood, but were unable to locate him. The investigation has been taken over by the Divisió d'Investigació Criminal (DIC) of the Regió Metropolitana Nord, which is working to locate the suspect and clarify the events.

At the moment, the motives for the attack are unknown. Initial hypotheses suggest that the victim and the assailant knew each other, and that the shooting may be related to a prior disagreement. Investigators are keeping all lines of inquiry open and do not rule out any possibilities.

This new shooting adds to other violent incidents that have occurred in the Ca n'Anglada neighbourhood in recent months, raising concerns among residents. The Terrassa City Council has expressed confidence in the work of the Mossos and has called for calm among the citizens.

So far, no arrests have been made. The police are seeking public cooperation to locate the assailant. Any information can be reported to the Mossos station in Terrassa or through the emergency phone number 112.
