From September 25 to 28, El Prat de Llobregat celebrates its Festa Major with music, popular culture, and activities for all audiences. The programme includes concerts by La Cabra Mecánica and Abba The New Experience.
El Prat de Llobregat is all set for its Festa Major 2026, which will take place from September 25 to 28. The Town Hall presented the complete programme on Monday, which includes over fifty activities spread across different spaces in the city. Music, popular culture, and family-friendly proposals will be the central themes of four days of celebration.
The Plaza de la Vila will once again be the epicentre of the festivities. On Friday, September 25, the traditional Toc d'Inici will kick off the celebrations. The city's giants, Rotllà and Griselda, will leave the town hall to join the procession. After the gathering of the popular entourage in the Plaza de Pau Casals, the Tres Trons will announce the start, and the Cercavila d'Inici will parade through the streets to the Plaza de la Vila. There, the Esclat de Festa Major, the opening speech, and the inaugural fireworks will take place.
The musical offering will unfold across three large stages. The Parque del Fondo d'en Peixo will host performances by Vera Fauna, Paco Pecado, Fillas de Cassandra, Elena Grueso, La Rauxa, and Fades, along with sessions by Balahits and DJs. The Zona Jove Estación will concentrate the more urban proposals: on Friday, Maig, Javugo, Mama Dousha, Cat Lletres, and DJ Trapella will perform; on Saturday, El Llobregat Suena, GlorySixVain, Kristina, Yasita, and Fresh Cobo.
The CEM Julio Méndez will be the venue for the most popular and intergenerational concerts. On Saturday, La Cabra Mecánica, Abba The New Experience, and Anómala DJ will perform; on Sunday, Zamorano, the tribute band Estopaos, and Hotel Cochambre. Local music will also play a significant role with artists such as Zamorano, Zick & Soul, Elena Grueso, Javugo, and Fresh Cobo, as well as the city's musical entities.
Family activities will include a circus circuit with small-format shows in the squares of Sant Jordi, Louis Braille, Constitució, and the gardens of Cementiri Vell. There will also be chocolate with children's entertainment, Tastets de ciència a la plaça, and the Festival of Fun featuring the show 'Sueños Encantados' at the CEM Julio Méndez.
The Fairground will remain in Ronda Sud, in a spacious area that aims to balance festive activities with neighbourhood rest. Additionally, on Sunday, September 20, the 45th Cursa Popular del Prat will take place, one of the most established sporting events. During the festival weekend, there will be competitions in cycling, petanque, futsal, swimming, billiards, chess, and sport fishing, among others.
El Prat Nocturn, now well-established, will offer tours in the days leading up to the event to discover unique stories and spaces in the city. The Protocol de Festa Major, signed a few months ago, will also be presented, consolidating the traditional model of the festival and its operational structure.
On Monday, September 28, the Festa Major will come to an end. The Final Cercavila will parade through the streets to the parking lot of the station, where the traditional fireworks show will take place, bringing a grand finale to four days of celebration.
City entities, regional houses, neighbourhood associations, and cultural collectives will also participate with their own activities in squares and facilities. The complete programme can be consulted on the municipal website and at citizen information points.
