Esparreguera is launching the new street cleaning service on Tuesday, July 1, which replaces the previous contract. The company Can Cet Centre D'Inserció Socio Laboral, S.L., awarded the service, will be responsible for cleaning the urban core, industrial estates, and residential areas of the municipality of Baix Llobregat.
The service, which was awarded by the municipal plenary on May 8 during an extraordinary and urgent session, has a budget of 4,166,999 euros and a duration of four years. The company, specialized in social and labour insertion, now takes on the comprehensive management of street cleaning.
According to the Esparreguera City Council, the new service is organized into five defined usage zones based on cleaning requirements, population density, and the frequency of activity in each area. This zoning aims to adapt resources to the actual needs of each point in the municipality.
To carry out the tasks, the company has a fleet of 7 vehicles and a team of 19 people. The public presentation of the service took place yesterday in the Plaza de la Pagesia, where the new image was unveiled under the slogan 'A cleaner Esparreguera starts with you.'
The launch of this service coincides with the preparation of other municipal facilities for the summer, such as the Municipal Summer Pool, which is already being equipped with new access stairs, filters, and improvements in water treatment.
The new street cleaning service aims to improve the maintenance of streets and public spaces in Esparreguera, with special attention to areas of higher foot traffic. Residents can consult the planning of the zones and schedules on the municipal website.
