The Local Police of Malgrat de Mar closed a fast food establishment on Abat Oliba street yesterday afternoon after detecting health violations. The closure follows a joint inspection with the Mossos d'Esquadra last Friday.
The Local Police of Malgrat de Mar ordered the precautionary closure of a fast food outlet located on Abat Oliba street. The measure was formalised yesterday afternoon after a joint inspection carried out last Friday night with the Mossos d'Esquadra detected health violations inside the establishment.
According to municipal sources, the police action was prompted by numerous complaints from residents regarding noise and non-compliance with hours, which created a problem of coexistence in the area. Officers arrived at the outlet around 11:15 PM on Friday to assess the situation.
The closure occurred two days after the inspection, once the technical services evaluated the detected deficiencies. The establishment will remain closed until it rectifies the health irregularities and complies with current regulations.
In a related incident, the Local Police arrested a person living near the outlet on the night from Sunday to Monday who had a judicial arrest warrant for a crime against public health. According to police sources, the arrest took place as part of a control operation in the same area.
The Malgrat de Mar Town Hall reminds that citizen collaboration is key to detecting such situations and encourages residents to report any incidents affecting coexistence or food safety.
