The Malgrat de Mar Town Council holds its ordinary July plenary this Thursday, with an agenda that includes the creation of a municipal regulated parking service and several management agreements.
The ordinary plenary for the month of July of the Malgrat de Mar Town Council takes place this Thursday from 19:00 hours, with an agenda that includes thirteen points. The session can be followed live via the council's YouTube channel, ajmalgrat.
One of the highlighted issues is the proposal to establish a study commission for the creation of a municipal regulated parking service, that is, a blue zone. Agenda item number 9 includes the preparation of a justificatory report and the regulation project, as well as submitting its initial approval for consideration.
The measure, which will directly affect the drivers in the municipality, aims to organise parking in the busiest streets and, according to municipal sources, improve vehicle turnover. The project is still in its early stages, as the commission must first be established and the technical documents drafted.
Additionally, the plenary will address two budget modifications (files 2026/14 and 2026/17), which require initial approval. These budget adjustments will allow for the reallocation of funds to cover unforeseen expenses or new investments.
In the agreements section, the agreement with the Consell Comarcal del Maresme for the hiring of the RULA service, dedicated to addressing drug use and screens, stands out. This service, which will be provided at a regional level, aims to offer support to individuals with addictions, especially among young people.
Another relevant agreement is the commission to the Diputació de Barcelona to take on the functions of Assistència en la Gestió Econòmica Local (ASGEL), a service that reinforces control and efficiency in the economic management of the Town Council.
In the area of human resources, the modification of the Organic Template approved in November 2025 will be put to a vote, as well as the modification of the supplementary remuneration for the technical architect position, following the agreement reached in the General Negotiation Table on May 21.
The plenary will also report on the Mayor's resolution 2405/2026, which sets the retirement of a councillor from July 31, 2026. From August 1, the councillor will begin receiving allowances instead of exclusive dedication.
Among the motions, one presented by the municipal group Malgrat ens Mou (MeM-APL) in support of the volunteer firefighters of the Generalitat de Catalunya stands out. The initiative seeks to recognise the work of these personnel and demand improvements in their conditions.
Finally, the resolutions of the Mayor's office numbered between 1865 and 2237 will be reported, and a turn for requests and questions from residents and political groups will be opened.
The plenary, which is expected to last several hours, is a key meeting for the municipality, as it lays the groundwork for future services such as the blue zone and strengthens inter-municipal collaboration on addiction issues.
