The City Council of Sabadell has awarded diplomas and theatre tickets to the 20 young people with the highest grades in this year's university entrance exams, at an event in the Teatre Principal.

This afternoon, the Teatre Principal in Sabadell hosted the recognition ceremony for the 20 students who achieved the best scores in the 2026 University Access Tests (PAU). The event, presided over by Mayor Marta Farrés and the Education Councillor, Manuel Robles, honoured 19 high school students and one from the Batxibac programme.

The awardees come from 19 different educational centres in the city, reflecting the diversity and quality of the local education system. Each received a commemorative diploma and a voucher for two tickets to shows in the 2026-2027 season at the municipal theatres La Faràndula, Teatre Principal, and L’Estruch.

A list of names

Among the awardees are Martina Gutiérrez Romà from Institut Vallès; Aina Viladomat Vilalta from Escola Pia de Sabadell; and Roger Forrellat Sabalete from Institut Pau Vila. Students from Sant Nicolau, Escola Mare de Déu de la Salut, Institut Joan Oliver, Escola Ramar 2, Institut Escola Industrial, Col·legi Sagrada Família, Jaume Viladoms, La Vall, Institut Miquel Crusafont i Pairó, Institut Sabadell, Institut Arraona, Institut Agustí Serra i Fontanet, Institut Jonqueres, Institut Les Termes, Institut Ferran Casablancas, Institut Ribot i Serra, and again, Institut Pau Vila (in the Batxibac modality) have also been recognised.

Mayor Marta Farrés emphasised that these awards are a recognition of effort and dedication of the young people, but she also wanted to highlight the role of families and teachers. According to municipal sources, the event served to value the ongoing support that students receive during their academic journey.

A cultural gesture as an incentive

The theatre ticket voucher is not a random prize. The City Council of Sabadell wanted to link academic excellence with the cultural offerings of the city, giving young people the opportunity to enjoy performances at the three municipal theatres. A way of telling them that, in addition to studying, it is also important to enjoy culture.

The Education Councillor, Manuel Robles, pointed out that initiatives like this promote motivation and public recognition of academic merit. “These boys and girls are an example for the entire educational community of Sabadell,” he stated during the ceremony.

The complete list of awardees also includes Adriana Gómez Spalvieri, Noa Òdena Alonso, Ismael Faraji Faraji, Àlex Luque Rodenas, Mar Andel Raptis, Antoni Ferrer Martí, Marta Vázquez Giménez, Melissa Martínez Hikimura, Juan Manuel Mérida Gallardo, Ariadna Cabrera Navarro, Ian Sánchez Fernández, Daniela Navarro Couceiro, Ainara Real Delgado, Irene Pardo Castaño, Marta Medel Grífol, Brenda Gianella Figueroa Pacheco, and Martina Porcar Arenós.

The diploma presentation has already become a tradition in Sabadell, which recognises the brightest students of the PAU each year. For the locals, it is a source of pride to see how local talent is celebrated on such an emblematic stage as the Teatre Principal. Who knows if among these twenty names is the next scientist, artist, or entrepreneur who will put Sabadell on the map.
