The new summer leisure proposal in El Prat de Llobregat, held at the Granja de la Ricarda, concludes its pilot test with attendance exceeding 12,500 people and expects to reach 16,000 with the closing sessions.
The Granja de la Ricarda closed this weekend the first edition of El Ricardeo, the leisure initiative promoted by the El Prat de Llobregat City Council and organised by the local collective La Gent del Fun in collaboration with AGT. The balance, according to municipal data, shows an accumulated attendance of approximately 12,500 people over the eight sessions held, a figure that could exceed 16,000 once the two closing events this Friday and Saturday are counted.
The mayor of El Prat, Alba Bou Jordà, has positively assessed the outcome of this pilot test and has announced that the project will continue. "This is just the beginning," the mayor emphasised, insisting that "El Ricardeo has shown that Ricarda can be a lively, open, and shared space." Bou highlighted that the proposal has managed to consolidate a festive space that is "accessible" and capable of bringing together very diverse audiences.
El Ricardeo has programmed a total of 37 performances featuring more than 80 artists, all linked to the local scene of El Prat. The musical offering has combined such disparate styles as the sounds of the eighties from Xavi Beat and Sergi Shine, the electronics of Vermood & Soundit, indie rock from Meloms, or urban and reggaeton nights. There has also been space for rumba with houses from Andalusia and Cádiz, as well as thematic sessions like Samfaina Club, Señoras Bien & Special Guest, and Blau Reviu, which revived the atmosphere of the city's historic party venue.
Culinary offerings have been another focus of the event, with a varied and affordable selection provided by five local restaurateurs: La Covatxa, Gustico and Tradición, Punto P Pizza, Burges Vibes, and United Fucking Fabulous Food. The initiative has also received support from Cerveses Damm.
From La Gent del Fun, the organising collective, they have celebrated the success of the event: "Months ago we imagined a space that El Prat needed. Today we can say it is a reality." The collective emphasised that all the artists who have performed at El Ricardeo are from El Prat because "we believe in the talent we have at home."
The first edition of El Ricardeo was conceived as a pilot test to assess the viability of a summer leisure space at the Granja de la Ricarda. The results obtained, according to the City Council, already allow for planning a second edition for the summer of 2027. The mayor has assured that the municipal team "is already thinking about next season's edition."
The event, held on Fridays and Saturdays in July, has turned Ricarda into a festive and cultural meeting point for the residents of El Prat and nearby municipalities. The commitment to accessibility and a diversity of proposals has been key to attracting a cross-sectional audience, from young people to families, with an offer that combined live music, DJ sessions, and local gastronomy.
With the closure of this first edition, the El Prat City Council is taking stock and already preparing the next steps. The intention is to consolidate El Ricardeo as a fixed date in the summer calendar of the Baix Llobregat region, taking advantage of the natural surroundings of the Granja de la Ricarda and the local cultural and gastronomic fabric.
Residents who were unable to attend the July sessions will have to wait until next summer to enjoy a new edition, although the organisation is already working to expand the programme and improve the experience. The expectation is that the second edition will maintain the spirit of the first: an open, participatory space with local talent as the protagonist.
